Welcome to the website portal,
“Healthy Diabetes” Caribbean Food Plates!
Here, you will learn what the First Lady, Michelle Obama has as her plan for the country: everyone learning how to serve their food plates according to the new My Plate image and ending the obesity epidemic, including high rates of diabetes.
The My Plate image shows how ˝ our plates should be fruits and vegetables (RED & GREEN).
And, the other 1/2 of our plates should be split between a grain and a protein (BROWN & PURPLE)
This website is dedicated to showing you how to create “Healthy Diabetes” Caribbean Food Plates that make popular traditional Caribbean food dishes fit with the My Plate image.
The dishes on this website portal are adapted for those people living with diabetes, at risk for developing diabetes, as well as for those who are overweight, or as risk of becoming overweight.
