Welcome to Diabetes peer education training

Here, we at www.DIVAhealth.org/DiabetesPeerEducation/Training/ are pleased to offer this on-line diabetes self-management peer education training program. While the program has been given in person before, this is the first time it is being offered on-line, using 13 Training Videos (featuring education delivered by Renee Murray Bachman, CDN, RN, CDE, CPT, MSN, Certified Diabetes Educator, with vast experience in Clinical Therapeutic Nutrition and Dietetics). As something new, we are, therefore, in the process of piloting, evaluating and improving this on-line version of the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP).

Thus, we are asking program evaluators to:
1) Review the Informed Consent, Participants’ Rights, and Screening Criteria
2) Watch Videos # 1-13 and rate them on a scale ranging from excellent to very poor, while also offering any comments you have about the video (strengths, weaknesses, things to be improved)
3) After you watch all 13 videos, please complete the Rate the Program Post-Video Viewing questionnaire. You will be asked a final set of questions to help us evaluate and improve this program, as well as questions about yourself (brief demographics).

Thank you for your interest in addressing the diabetes epidemic, particularly given the devastating impact on African American communities. Learn through this program that we do have THE POWER TO PREVENT!
